Husband of Mary Ann Shive Tucker (1846-1933). Father of Edgar Wilbur Tucker (1888-1967). Grandfather of Thelma Pearl Dorothea Tucker Ritter (1920-2007) and Clair Edgar Tucker (1918-1999).
Enlisted as a Private in the Union Army on 13 July 1864; was promoted to Corporal on 1 August 1864; mustered out of the Army on 17 November 1864. Served in Company I of the 196th Pennsylvania Regiment. For some unknown reason, Henry enlisted under the alias "Hiram Tritch". His Civil War pension, received by his wife, Mary Ann, lists Henry's real name and beside it on the line is written "aka Hiram Tritch".

Henry was orphaned at 15 years of age and went to live with Thomas Scrivener and his family in Calvert County, Maryland. Henry later moved to Mauck Chunk (now Jim Thorpe), PA, where he worked as a farmer and shoemaker.

In the 1840 Maryland Census Henry is listed as one of three children. The mother's name is written as "Rebanna" and she is identified as a widow.
