Anne Harris Shields, 64, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
Anne was born on January 3, 1954, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. She grew up in Lake Providence, LA, and attended and graduated from Briarfield Academy. She later received her bachelor's degree in nursing. Anne worked as an RN at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge for 30 years. She spent the last 12 years of her career working as "Nurse Anne," RN and Medical Liaison Officer, at Narconon Louisiana in Denham Springs.
Anne is predeceased by her parents, Virginia Catching Harris and Dr. William A. Harris.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Roby Shields and William Hillary Shields, daughter-in-law Jessica Shields, grandson William Hillary Shields Jr. (Liam), sister Kathy Harris McIntosh, brother-in-law Thomas C. McIntosh, brother William A. Harris Jr., sister-in-law Sheila Martin Harris, brother Kenneth Catching Harris and her canine companion Reaux.
The family would also like to thank Mike Shultz and Donna Hall, friends who became family, who lovingly cared for Anne until her passing.
Services will he held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 7:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Anne's name.
