Maria Hannah Strobridge was born to parents, Oliver Strobridge and Esther Mason in Schroon Lake, Essex county, New York on 15 JUL 1837.
Maria was the eldest of four daughters and moved with her family first to Ohio, between 1846-1850, and then to Wisconsin by the 1860 US Census. They settled in Royalton, Waupaca County where their father was a farmer.
Maria married Eben B Ames on 15 JUNE 1856 in Weyauwega, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, a month shy of her 19th birthday.
She and Eben had 8 children, but ultimately separated after Eben returned home from the Civil War.
Maria lived her later years with their daughter, Harriet M. (Stout) Ames and family.
She died in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 06 JUNE 1914 and according to her death certificate, her body was taken to Royalton, Waupaca County, Wisconsin for burial.
