"Miss Nelle G. McCain, 94, a former resident of Independence, died at Indian Hills Nursing Home Tuesday. In 1981, she made her home with her nephew, Ralph McCain in Utica, before entering the home in August.
Miss McCain lived in Utica from 1906 to 1908. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McCain and was a kindergarten teacher for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, where she had been a member over 65 years. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, January 18, 1984
