Born Sept. 14, 1928, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the late Zane Hiram and Myrtle Clarissa (Wagner) Anderson. She was united in marriage to James Bud Cowan Oct. 15, 1947, at the United Brethren Church Parsonage, Orbisonia. Mr. Cowan preceded her in death May 13, 2015.
Mrs. Cowan is survived by two daughters, Judy Yohn and husband Paul, and Susan Susie Summers and husband, Charles, all of Blacklog Valley; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Cowan of Orbisonia; grandchildren, Brian, Brent, Stacie, Autumn, Heather, Lindsey, Kristie and Angie; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She is also survived by her siblings, Madeline Garland of McConnellsburg and Kay Rosenberry of Hustontown.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Cowan; a grandson, Shawn Michael Cowan; a great-grandson, Brian Paul Yohn; three sisters; and a brother.
Mrs. Cowan was a member of the Pente- costal Freedom Church, Mount Union.
She had worked at the former Sagner Sewing Factory a number of years.
Mrs. Cowan loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed gardening and canning.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Ramon Morgan officiating. Interment will be made in Shope Cemetery, Blacklog Valley.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
