Monica graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1955. After high school Monica pursued a career in the insurance industry, which she eventually retired from. She was a past President of the Yakima Womens Insurance Association.
Monica married Dale Young, in Yakima, on April 25, 1959. The two chose to live, work and raise their family in the Yakima Valley.
