"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast" Ephesians 2:8-9.

Carole Louise Swor of Sherman, Texas passed away on the evening of June 9, 2018, at the age of 78. She went to be in the presence of the Lord after a long struggle with cancer. It is with certainty, when Carole stood before the Lord, she was greeted with the words "Well done thou good and faithful servant". Carole was born August 1, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter Arthur Ludwig and Elvera Amolia (nee Schwarz) Ludwig. She was born again as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on October 1, 1939, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Maplewood, Missouri where she attended first grade through eighth grade. Carole was catechized in the Christian Faith and was confirmed on March 22, 1953, at Concordia Lutheran Church. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desire of your heart”. She was a 1957 graduate of Lutheran High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Carole was united in Holy Matrimony to Gordon DeLette Swor on May 9, 1959, also at Concordia Lutheran Church. Her family moved around quite often in the early years including St. Louis, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois, Springfield, Illinois, Dallas, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and finally back to the Dallas area. Everywhere her family moved, she turned a house into a warm and loving home.

Carole was a loving, kind and patient woman taking care of every need of her husband as well as her boys. Most importantly, she shared her faith with us through both her words and her actions. She truly loved her family and friends with all her heart.

She is survived by her husband Gordon who loved her dearly; sons, Richard Swor and wife Lisa, Thomas Swor and wife Laura, Matthew Swor and wife Tammy and Joel Swor and wife Amy; grandchildren, Rachel Wells and husband Nathaniel, Nicholas Swor, Caleb Swor, Sarah Swor, Ryan Swor, Preston Swor, McKenzie Dobbs and husband Evan, Claire Swor, and Nathan Swor; great-grandson, Noah Wells.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1701 East Park Blvd, Plano, Texas 75074.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
