Mrs. Hackney was born April 28, 1908, in Marshall, to William Dixon Rains and Myrtle Weaver Rains. She passed away April 19, 2007, at a Longview hospital.
Mrs. Hackney was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, a Paul Harris fellow, Marshall Art League former president, a member of Daughters of the King, Trinity Altar Guild, the Trinity Choir, Women of Trinity, a former Sunday school teacher, Marshall Garden Club former president, a member of the Jessie Allen Wise Garden Club of Jefferson, an artist, the former owner of Antiques and Gifts, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a loving wife to, Vivian Howard Hackney for more than 55 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Ann Hackney Rountree and Albert, and Alice Hackney Ruegg; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Cindi Hackney; grandchildren, Howard Key and Becky Burton, Howard Rains Hackney, Celeste Hackney LeGeyt, Texas and Penni Ruegg, Will Ruegg, Andrew and Heather Ruegg, Kate and Zach Marshall, Chris King and Collin King; great- grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
