Martha was born December 25, 1932 in Roscoe, TX to George Hicks Sr. and Mary Connell Hicks. She graduated from Littlefield High School in 1948. She worked for City Bank for fourteen years, retiring in 2014 at the age of 81. She was longtime member of First Baptist Church
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John K. Caraway and her children, Kathy Baker, Mary Lou Shipley and Jimmie Sue Smith.
Loved ones include son Steve Shipley and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Christy Madison, Robert Weeman, Shelley James, Jennifer Clark, Steven Shipley and Clayton Shipley; nineteen great grandchildren.
