Barbara Joann Field, age 70, of Reedsville, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at her residence. She was born January 16, 1936, in Arthurdale, a daughter of the late Wyatt and Helen Nelson Bias.

Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker who loved to feed and watch her birds, liked her football games on TV and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a faithful member of Kanes Creek United Methodist Church and their United Methodist Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters; Kathy Ann Field Taft and spouse Doug of Masontown, Patricia Kay “Patty” Field Friend and spouse, John of Reedsville; one brother, Richard Bias and spouse Lucille of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Shirley Blake of Morgantown; four brothers-in-law, Daniel Field of Reedsville, Prentis Field and spouse Willy of Benton AR, Donald Field and companion Jan of Morgantown, and Jack Field and spouse Elsie of Reedsville; four sisters-in-law, Elva Fromnecht of Kingwood, Betty Reed of Alexander, AR, Brenda Cagle and spouse David of Murfreesboro, TN, and Sandra Goodwin and spouse Glenn of Reedsville; four grandchildren, Nicky Taft Decker and spouse Andy of Morgantown, Jimmy - Lee Taft of Masontown, Colton Friend and Makenzie Friend, both of Reedsville; two great-grandchildren, Cambrie and Conner Decker, both of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Edward “Pat” Field in 2005; five brothers, Glyn Wyatt Bias, Donald Wyatt Bias, Eugene Bias, James Carl Bias and Norman Bias; and two sisters, Juanita Bias Cornett and Clara Bias Moore.

Friends will be received on Saturday, July 29, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday, July 30, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m at Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Homes, Valley Chapel, Rt. 7, Reedsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 31, 2006 at the Kanes Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Hughes and the Rev. John Brosky officiating. Interment will follow at Arthurdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to: Hospice Care Corporation, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
