The death occurred suddenly on Monday evening, of Mr. Albert Herbert Ross of Awanui, at the age of 59 years. Deceased came to this district just over four years ago and purchased a farm opposite the Dairy factory at Awanui. He had previously been farming in the South but owing to ill health had been recommended to come North. During the past few months, deceased had leased his farm and has followed a lighter occupation. MR ALFRED HERBERT ROSS [Special to "Northern Advocate." 1 ] KAITAIA, This Day. The death took place suddenly from heart failure last evening of Mr Alfred Herbert Ross, of Awanui, at the age of 59. Deceased came to Awanui from Karioi [between Ohakune and Waiouru], where he had been engaged, in a large way, in sheep and cattle-raising. He was ordered North by doctors on account of his health. At Awanui he purchased a farm four years ago, but after working it for a time, he leased it and followed a lighter occupation. Only last Saturday, Mr Ross, with his partner in a fishing business, purchased a launch, and he was in his usual state of health up to the time of the seizure causing death.
