From The Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) - Friday, June 2, 1972:

William Samuel Asper, 63, executive vice president and manager of the Salt Lake Credit Bureau, did May 31, 1972 in a Salt Lake City rest home of natural causes.

Mrs. Asper was a trustee of the Community Consumer and Credit Counseling Service, past president of the Associated Credit Bureaus of the Rocky Mountain States, District Six, and past president of the Kiwanis Club, had been in credit work since 1940.

He was previously credit manager of Montgomery Ward and Co. stores in both Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon, and was a member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a mission to the northwestern states.

Born September 24, 1908 in Salt Lake City to Alfred W. and Mamie Evans Asper, he married Afton Richards May 16, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died September 28, 1963.

Survivors include sons and daughter, Richard W., Alfred N., Mrs. Kenneth R. (Louise) Chapman, all Salt Lake City, seven grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy A. Young, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will by Saturday. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
