NEWTON - Funeral services for Richard Oscar Hollingsworth, native of Decatur were held at the Decatur Baptist Church the Rev. John W. Cook, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Decatur cemetery, with Masons in charge. A large crowd was in attendance at the service.
Hollingsworth was born March 24, 1885, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob G. Hollingsworth. He was a farmer and lived at Oak Grove, La., for many years. Since the death of his wife, he had been living with his children. He was a member of the Decatur Masonic Lodge and the Decatur Baptist Church.
Five daughters, Mrs. Ina Yantz of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Lizzie Whitten of Oak Grove, La., Mrs. Joyce Cooksey of Lawrence, Misses Claudice and Vada Hollingsworth of Meridian; fours sons, Jake of Houston, Tex., Clark of Columbus, Ohio, Victor and Jerry Hollingsworth of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Hicks of Decatur, Mrs. Claude Jackson of Stark-ville, and Mrs. Walter Bulk ol Picayune; three brothers, J. I., J. C, and J. G. Hollingsworth, all of Decatur; and a number of grandchildren and other relatives survive.
