CLEVELAND - Charlie Scales Oswalt, 89, died Saturday at Bolivar County Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Providence Baptist Church with burial in North Cleveland Cemetery. Fletcher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mr. Oswalt was a retired carpenter and a native of Oktibbeha County. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Mr. Oswalt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Oswalt of Cleveland; daughters, Mrs. Christine Bush of Jackson, Mrs. Mildred Bonner of Clarksdale, Mrs. Lois Fuggitt of Overland Park, Kan., and Mrs. Lurline Myers of Shawnee, Kan.; sons, Otis Oswalt, James Oswalt and Charles Oswalt, all of Overaldn Park, Billy Oswalt of Wichita, Kan., David Oswalt of Laurel and Gerald Oswalt of Hattiesburg; sisters, Mrs. Oma Allday of Jackson, Mrs. Dell King of Cleveland and Mrs. Clovis Clayton of Memphis, Tenn.; brother, Euwell Oswalt of Holly, Tenn.; and 30 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
