Raoul Emery Austin, Jr., 84, passed away at the RTA Hospice Center in Casa Grande, AZ on Feb. 18, 2005. Ray was born on July 2, 1920 to Raoul Emery Austin and Laura Cole Austin in North Salt Lake City, Utah. Ray married Faye Delores Spencer in April. 1942, and began serving four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After Ray's discharge from the Navy, he returned to Bluffdale, Utah and subsequently Taylorsville, Utah. Ray heard the gospel in 1953 and continued in This Way until his death. He partnered with Harry Rozema to form Rozema & Austin Construction Co. and later Larry Dean Construction Co. with his son Michael. Faye preceded Ray in death in Nov 1998. Ray later married Esther Emogene Williston on July 21, 2001 in Casa Grande Arizona, where he lived until his death.
He is survived by his wife Esther, son Larry Ray Austin and wife Dorothy; daughter Deanna Fay Chafee; daughter Shanna Lee Olson and husband Harvey; son Michael Dean Austin and wife Carol; stepson, Kent Williston; brother Bruce Austin; and sister Ann Poston. He will be greatly missed by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Redwood Memorial Estates at 6500 South Redwood Rd. on Feb. 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.
