Member of Harris County Medical Society, The. American Medical Association, The Texas Medical Association and Sacred Heart Society of Little York. Served Medical Internship at Jefferson Davis Hospital. Served as Captain in the US Army Medical Corps during World War II. Survivors: Wife,. Mrs. Peggy Butera; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise M. and John L. Maida, Rosalie C. and J. Calvin Smith and Marian J. and Emmanuel Camarata; sons, James M. Butera, Jr., Joseph M. and daughter-in-law, Vivian Butera, Michael A. Butera and Paul J. Butera; 11 grandchildren; brother, John Butera; sisters, Kathryn Pintok, Donia Mazzola and Sadie Montalbano; sisters-in-law, Lucille Geaccone, Nellie Butera and Theresa Mandela, all of Houston.
