Frederick Ziegler Leiter died Monday morning at 6:15 o'clock at the home of his son, Clayton A. Leiter, at 29 North D street after a short illness continuing a little over two weeks. Mr. Leiter had been an unusually active and energetic man, one who prided himself on his vitality and ability to keep at work even in his old age and he was really a remarkable man in this respect.
Frederick Ziegler Leiter was born in Leitersburg, Washington county, Maryland on August 18, 1827. He was married December 23, 1855 to Louise Marian Breitenbach, daughter of Josiah and Elizabeth Breitenbach of Hamilton. Of this union four children resulted, Samuel Josiah Leiter, now of Covington, Ky.; Elmer Ellsworth Leiter, now of Richmond, Ind.; Harry Mallory Leiter, who died in infancy, and Clayton A. Leiter, of this city, city editor of The Hamilton Evening Democrat. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Nellie E. and Elma D. Leiter of Covington Ky., and Lester S. Leiter, of Richmond, Ind.
The funeral of the late Frederick Z. Leiter will take place from the home of his son, Clayton A. Leiter, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Dr. William A. Waldo of the first Baptist church, while the interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.
