Mesa, AZ - Floyd D. Bortnem, 76, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away December 30, 2001, in Mesa. Mr. Bortnem farmed in South Dakota for 25 years, and then at age 40 a heart valve replacement caused him to change professions and to become a automobile salesman at Ben Hur Ford of Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 20 years after that. After retirement they enjoyed winters in Arizona and became permanent residents in 1997. Floyd is survived by his wife of 55 years, Isia, a daughter Cindy (Daryl) Curtis of Montgomery, MN, and one son Craig Bortnem of Lakewood, CO. Also surviving are two granddaughters Alison and Erin, one sister Ardelle Livingston of Florida. Services will be Saturday, 1:00 pm at Love of Christ Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Power Road, with visitation one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Center of Compassion Fund, c/o Love of Christ Lutheran Church. Argus.com 01/03/02
