17 Apr 2007: Harold H. Kendig, 85, Palmyra, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Veronica Schewkan Kendig. They were married 61 years. He was born to John and Mary Agnes Henry Kendig in South Hanover Township, Dauphin County, February 11, 1922. He retired after 40+ years from the steel rolls department of Hershey Chocolate Company. He was an avid golfer and a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church in Palmyra and Palmyra VFW Post. Surviving him are his wife Veronica and his children Dennis P. "Gregory" Kendig and his wife Deborah of Harrisburg, Harry A. Kendig and his wife Stacey of Hagerstown, MD, and Judith K. and her husband William Arnold of Annville; grandchildren Ryan and Morgan Kendig, Tara Jones and Zachary Arnold; and two great-grandchildren; sister Sara Hetrick of Palmyra. Service Wednesday, April 18, at Rothermel Funeral Home, Palmyra, Rev. Jan Fryer officiating. Burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
