Alphonse C. Carlis, Jr., 69, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. Alphonse was born in New Haven on January 29, 1948; son of the late Alphonse C. Sr. and Patricia P. Hardy Carlis; and had worked as a printer for Royal Printing in Guilford; was a member of the Elm City Gun Club; loved hunting and especially loved to fish; played the guitar and also taught others how to play; was a great artist. Brother of Patricia (Daniel) Hadlock, Catherine Scollan, Joseph and John Carlis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Mary Carlis.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery.
