Ruby Marble Scott passed away on February 1, 2018. After a week of love with family and tender goodbyes, heaven’s doors opened to receive her home.
Ruby was thrilled to be known by many other names, including the “I Love You Grandma,” the “Shop-Shop Grandma,” the “Earring Lady,” the “Little Gangster,” and recently to friends at Our House, she was “Ruby Cakes.”
She was born December 24, 1934, in Holbrook, Idaho. She was the fourth of eight children born to Bert and Alberta Marble. She lived in Malad, Idaho until she married her sweetheart, David Arthur Scott, in the Logan LDS temple on May 28, 1952.
She loved to serve and did so in her many church callings, including ward and stake young women's organizations, stake young single adults, and being a missionary in Chesterfield, Idaho, with David by her side.
Ruby and David grew peonies, rode motorcycles, and remodeled and built over a dozen houses together. They also raised a family of six children, more than eleven foster children, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Family who welcomed Ruby home include her eternal companion, David, along with her parents, Bert and Alberta Marble, brothers Glen, Charles Ray, and Bert Marble, sister Afton Lewis, and grandsons Skipper Scott, Cory Parry and Joshua Scott.
Living on to honor Ruby is her children: Dave (Cheryl) Scott, Teresa (Gary) Hunsaker, Dan (Nancy) Scott, Cindy (Kim) Parry, Annette (Tom) Hanson, and Daren (Susie) Scott, her siblings Norman Marble, Mary Atkinson and Ruth Ann Zaugg, along with William Brandon, and many others who also called her “Mom.”.
Words are not enough to express our gratitude to the caring staff at Our House and IHC Hospice. You were the answer to our mother’s prayers.
Memorial services will be held Noon on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E, Tremonton, UT 84337). Friends are invited to visit with family at the funeral home Friday evening 6-7:30 pm and Saturday 10:30–11:30 am. Interment will be at the Fielding Cemetery.
