Daughter of Leonard Howard & Caroline Smith.

She married Orris Addison Bishop, oldest child of Clinton DeWitt Bishop & Elizabeth Grant, on January 31st, 1864, Kane Co., IL. Orris, whose parents were both from New York, was born in Toronto, Canada but their family moved on to Chicago were his siblings were born. (Many records list Chicago or Illinois as Orris’ POB), their family moved to Weston, Platte Co., MO in the late 1840’s.

Julia & Orris moved around a bit early in their marriage but later settled in Chicago . They had five children: Joseph Howard Bishop (1865-1911): Helen Elizabeth “Nellie” (James Scott) Evans (1866-1943), Walter Henry Bishop (1868-1915), Mabel Emma (Thomas) Gregg (1870-1939) & Charles ClintonBishop (1872-1912).
