Gladys Lavada Moon was born near the Huckabay Community in rural Erath County, Texas in 1915 to Jesse Rigin Moon 1870-1958 & Cenie Elizabeth Beene 1875-1941.

On 22 March 1930 she married Hosie Hendrix Butler in Erath County Texas. They made their home in Erath County before moving into Ft Worth and suburbs in Tarrant County. Lavada died in Tarrant County and is buried in Greenwood Memorial Park.
