Nancy Motzko, 81 of Long Prairie died Tuesday, May 29 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family. Nancy was born, March 7, 1937, at home in Cushing, MN to Frank and Susan (Gallaher) Osterberg. She grew up in "Dinky Town" and graduated from Marshall U High School in Minneapolis. Nancy worked for Schaper, the original maker of the game "Cootie". She also worked as a lab tech painting artificial eyes at a company in South East Minneapolis. In August of 1959, at one of the many dances that Nancy and her niece Pat Katterhagen would attend she met Norbert Motzko at the Knotty Pine Ballroom. They were married November 23, 1959 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Browerville. They took over the family farm in Hartford Township and worked together until they retired in 1996. She enjoyed art and crafts, woodworking, her casino bus trips, gardening, sitting in nature and the adventurous weekend trips with her daughters. But most of all Nancy loved to be with her family.
Nancy is survived by her daughters; Jackie (Doug) Kurtz, Joan (Tim) Harvey, Connie (Randy) Ylinen, Elaine (Mike) Youngquist, Yvonne (Kevin) Piepho, 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Susan, husband, Norbert, sisters, Laura, Lena and Alice, brothers, Ed and Ernie and granddaughters Carol and Carmen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Nancy at 11:00 am on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville. Friends may begin calling on Sunday, June 3, 2018, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Iten Funeral home in Browerville and one hour prior to the funeral at the church; burial will be held at the parish cemetery.
