B.R. Greenhill
Billie Roe Greenhill, 67, of 306 Avenue E., who had served as director of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Victoria for 30 years until his retirement in 1983, died Sunday in a Houston hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1920, in West. His career with the ASCS began in 1952 in Harris County. The department was known as Production and Marketing Administration at that time. From Harris County he went to Galveston County, then moved in Victoria in 1953. During his time with the ASCS, he received two quality increase awards and a certificate of merit. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1951 with a bachelor's of science in geology, with minors in agriculture and chemistry. He was a member of the Bloomington Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Mr. Wayne DeDear officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at White Rock Cemetery in West.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Ruth Greenhill of Victoria; a son, Ted Greenhill of Port Lavaca five sisters; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roland Greenhill, in 1971, and by a grandchild.
