Henry B. Clemens a barber, married Annie A. Lock, November 28, 1872, Moundsville, Marshall County, WV.

Nov 8, 1890, Wheeling Register reported the adoption by Henry B. Clemens and Anna, his wife, of an infant child aged between 3 and 4, under the name Hazel Jones Clemens. The child had been in their care for 17 months and was previously at Cleveland Protestant Orphan Asylum, father deceased, mother's whereabouts unknown.

Wheeling Daily Register, Nov 8, 1899, reported that the firm of Lewis and Clemens, barbers, 57 12th St, Wheeling, was dissolved by mutual consent, H. B. Clemens having purchased the interest of Thomas H Lewis. ( who was in bad health)

The 1900 census gives birth Feb 1847, so date 1843 on stone may be incorrect.

Henry B 53 a barber, and Annie born July 1854 VA/WV appear on the 1900 census, Ohio County, WV, with adopted daughter Hazel J. Clemens born April 1886.
Also in household are widowed Annie Pendleton 29 born Georgia and her daughter Gertrude 7 born Maryland.

Henry and Annie are listed on 1910 census, Wheeling with granddaughter Elizabeth Palmer 16.

His death certificate indicates he was born in Wheeling to Sherrod C Clemens, unknown mother, retired, Eugene Palmer informant.
