On July 20, 1955, he married his wife of 62 years, Jammie Gossett, and she survives.
In addition to Jammie, Les is survived by his daughter, Patricia McLaughlin of Shelbyville; son, Joseph Allen Scott of Indianapolis; brothers, Sammie Edward Scott of Edmonton, Kentucky, Eugene Scott and wife, Melanie, of St. George, Utah, Burney Scott and wife, Bettie, of Zionsville, and Richard Scott of Indianapolis; grandson, Jordan Scott; great-grandchild, Sawyer Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elsie Ferguson, Annie Anderson and Geneva Scott; and brothers, Warner Scott and Earl Thomas Scott.
Les was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Les retired from Western Electric, where he gold-plated contacts, with 30 years of service.
Interment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, with military graveside rites.
