Neva was born on her father's farm northeast of Morton. On November 26th, 1896, at the age of 21, she married Charles Beery, on her father's farm. They ran their own farm nearby until 1910, when they decided to move to Seattle, Washington, where her sister, Mary, had already moved to with her family.

In Seattle, Charles was a Life Insurance Salesman. They did not have any children. Neva died from the flu at the age of 54. Her body was returned to Hardin, where the funeral was held at her sister's house.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan & Mildred (Cox) Lentz; brother, Nathan Lentz Jr.; and brother-in-laws, J. E. Riordan & G. A. Sims.

She was survived by her husband, Charles of Seattle; sister's, Mary Riordan of Seattle, Minnie Sims and Ella Lentz of Hardin; nephews, Thomas Riordan of Seattle, and Archie Riordan of Detroit, Michigan; sister-in-law, Mary Kirkpatrick of Morton; and an aunt, Kate Lentz of Hardin.
