Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Dreamland Cemetery with Dr. Thomas L. Palmer, nephew, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.
Julia Long was born Oct. 25, 1910, in Canyon to Fulton and Lucy Dowlen Brown. She received her teaching degree from West Texas Normal College and taught elementary school in Gallup, N.M., for 30 years. She married John J. Long in Gallup. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; two brothers, Charlie and Herman Brown; and four sisters, Dochia Borders, Grace Palmer, Corinne Camp and Sallie B. Allen.
Survivors include two cousins, George Dowlen of Amarillo and Marie Manley of Canyon; and several nieces and nephews.
