Doug graduated from Winchester Community High School in 1973 and attended the Skilled Trades Program at Ivy Tech Community College. He was a member of the Indiana Carpenters and Millwrights Union, Local 912. Doug enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and was a skilled finish carpenter.
He leaves behind his 5 children, Brody Stipp and Liza Yates (mother Deb Neer), Nicole Stipp, Whitney Stipp and Alexander Stipp (mother Kelly Stipp) and his mother, Betty J. Stipp. He also leaves behind sisters Deborah Betz (Chuck) and Carolyn Briggs, brothers Tim Stipp (Wilma) and Mark Stipp (Brenda), several nieces and nephews, his girlfriend Penny Beaty, and grandchildren Jaylen and LouEtta Lea Beaty.
He was preceded in death by his father William L. Stipp and Uncle Jerry "Jake" Chowning and Charles Edward Wall and Aunt Opal Wall.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at the Walker Funeral Home, 248 East South Street, Winchester, IN 47394.
