Alice was baptized and confirmed in the Wennersborg Lutheran Church and attended grade school in Holmes City. She was united in marriage to Art Ellis on May 27, 1939 and made their home in Alexandria. Together they raised two children Arlou and Gary.
Some of Alice’s favorite times were spent at Lake Latoka with her family for picnics, swimming and fishing. She was an avid reader and bowling and golfing were happy times for her to remember. Alice was a long-time member of Calvary Lutheran Church and Rachel Circle.
She will be missed by many who loved and knew her.
Alice M. Ellis died on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Alex Assisted Living at the age of 99 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Arlou Femrite of Alexandria; son, Gary (Barb) Ellis of Osakis; four grandchildren, Jeff (Melanie) Lindner of Alexandria, Elizabeth (Kris) Skidmore of Kearney, MO, Robert Lindner of Iowa City, IA, and Scott (Sheri) Ellis of Alexandria; ten great grandchildren, Phanalai Lindner, Bun Lindner, Mike Lindner, Martha Lindner, Maizy Lindner, Andrew Lindner, Lewis Lindner, Isaiah Skidmore, Samantha Ellis, and Sydney Ellis; six great great grandchildren, Mariah Lindner, Marcus Lindner, Titan Barlow, Bar Nicholson, Leila Nicholson, and Myles Monroe; many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art Ellis, 3 sisters and one brother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Erickson officiating.
A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Kinkead Cemetery.
