Permelia E. Lions Ledbetter, wife of W.L. Ledbetter was born in the state of IN. When a small girl she moved with her parents to Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa and in the year 1858 was married to Benjamin Reed. To this union was born nine children, five yet living, Estella, Alonzo, Fidello, Walter and Rachel.

Being a widow she was married to W.L. Ledbetter in the year 1878. To this union three children of which two, Jesse and Tillie survives her. She united herself with the Christian Church in 1886.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband seven children and many relatives and friends.

Her remains were buried in the Nabisco Cemetery January 2. Funeral services were conducted by Elder G.T. Wadley of Tyrone, OK.
