Violet was born July 8, 1930 in Crockett, Texas, to Leroy and Bedie (Beard) Farrell. She passed away May 19, 2018 in Klamath Falls.
Violet was a very loyal person. She married Ralph E. Wood and never remarried after his passing in 1968. She ran a shelter home in Coquille for many years, and was one of the first people to be hired by the State of Oregon as an aide for children services. Violet always enjoyed helping others; she also volunteered for AARP to assist others with the filing of taxes.
She loved gardening, cooking, bowling, and camping. But most of all, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all of the kids and grandkids that adopted her as "granny." She loved and bragged on her big family. Violet was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Inetta Jackson-Jones and husband, Robert of Klamath Falls, Tammy Boyd and husband, Allen of Coos Bay; son-in-law, Dan West of Eugene; grandsons, Darren West of Portland, Brian West and wife, Joy of Coos Bay, Ryan Jackson of Post Falls, Idaho; granddaughters, Michelle Grossell and husband, Rob of Sparks, Nev., Nikki Cuttingham and husband, Justin of Klamath Falls, Kammie Greene and husband, Koby of Coos Bay, and Porscha Boyd of Coos Bay; as well as ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Wood; and daughter, Darlene West.
Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel.
