Son of Thomas Bellomy and Lavina McCall, who had 13 known children.

m: Anna S. Manlove, Mar 1865, Schuyler IL. as Mathew H Bellamy per transcribed record. Anna was dau of George and Matilda Manlove and is in their home, Rushville Schuyler IL in 1870 as age 24, a school teacher. Assuming this is same Anna, it appears she and Matthew divorced/separated by 1870 and she took her maiden name back.

m: Mrs. Amelia (Blackburn) Upson, 1874, Mccomb IL. Amelia was widow of Royal T. Upson, and brought her young sons, John and Ole Upson, to the marriage.

m: Georgia unknown, abt 1898, probably in Lincoln NM. Appears to have separated by 1900.

Per Amelia's obit, Matthew was living in Cherokee, KS. at the time of their marriage in 1874, and had recently moved to Elk Falls Ks. at the time of her death in 1879.

1869 Oct 22:: Matthew H. Bellomy filed for invalid pension based on his service in the Illinois 16th Regiment.

1883: Appointed postmaster, White Oak, Lincoln NM.

His paperwork shows he was married but separated, had been a teacher, next of kin was sister, Lizzie Bellomy/no address. NOTE: The only known sister living at the time was Keziah Bellomy, who was living in Calif, it is assumed her nickname was "Lizzie".

1920 Feb 6: Georgia A. Bellomy filed for widow's pension benefits (in Calif) against Matthew H. Bellomy of Illinois 16th Regiment.

-1910 Long Beach CA, BELLOMY Georgia A/63/wd, lodger in Stovile home.
(It was not unusual for women who were divorced or separated to claim they were widows)
There is a Georgia Bellomy buried in Goleta Cemetery, Santa Barbara CA. no dates or information; researching.

Burial this cemetery not proved. He probably died in New Mexico. He had no family living unless possibly a wife he had been separated from for many years. Based on family trees he outlived all of his siblings.
