Burial was to follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe.
Mr. Ewing died Monday night at Ridgecrest Nursing Home after a long illness.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. H. B. Averett of West Monroe; two brothers, Edgar Ewing of Ruston and Etheridge Ewing of Jonesboro; a half-brother, Bill Ewing of Chatham; a step-brother, Dr. David E. Brown of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Tillie May of Grayson; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
