In the year 1851, the deceased was married to Miss Rachel Ann Jones, of New York, who, at the time of their marriage, was making her home in Illinois.

To their union, ten children were born, all of whom are living, save two, who died in infancy. Those living are: Mrs. Evalyn Hostmeyer, LaBelle, Missouri; Mrs. Ida T. Meckes, Mrs. Lennie Meckes, and John Banks of Quincy, Illinois; C. E. and Arthur Banks of Monticello, Missouri; and Orville Banks of Fresno, California.
