Jean Famuliner, age 88, of Carrollton, died Thursday, May 24, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at Bittiker Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will recieve friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. before the service at the funeral home. Memorials suggested to United Methodist Church or Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: Children- Martha DeVries, of Carrollton; Dennis Famuliner, of Carrollton; and Donald Jo Famuliner, of Carrollton.

Dorothy Jean Famuliner, age 88, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at her home.

Jean was born at the family home in Wakenda, Missouri, on October 7, 1929, one of three children born to John Melvin and Lucille (Staton) Huffman.

She attended Elderbloom School until 8th grade and then transferred to Wakenda, where she graduated with the class of 1947. Sherman just happened to be at a basketball game when Jean was playing, and he introduced himself. They began a lifelong friendship and on December 5, 1948, Jean married Sherman Schmoker Famuliner at the United Methodist Church in Carrollton, Missouri. To this union, they were blessed with three children, Martha, Dennis, and Donald Joe.

Jean was a wonderful housewife and mother who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and collecting Santa figurines. She was an active community member, who volunteered to serve on many Boards. Those included; helping with voter registration, Wakenda PTA, Peppy 4-H Club Leader, Walnut Grove Cemetery Board, Woman's Club, Carrollton Housing Authority, Beef Committee, and Pork Producers Council. Jean was a long time dedicated member of the United Methodist Church of Carrollton, Missouri. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her children, Martha DeVries, of Carrollton, Missouri, Dennis Famuliner and wife Sarah Jane, of Carrollton, Missouri, Donald Joe and wife Kelli, of Carrollton, Missouri; six grandchildren, Diana Long, Amanda Abernathy, Joel DeVries, Aubrey Finkeldei, Courtney Famuliner and Cierra Famuliner; six great-grandchildren, Katarina, Hagan, Samantha, Hunter, Jack and Augustas.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherman, one brother, Billy Huffman in infancy, and one sister, Marie Sanders.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Bittiker Funeral Home, with Reverend Anselm Williams and Reverend Cheryl Sanders officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
