Jack was born March 13, 1924 to John Aird and Julia Deane Imlay Aird.
He married Jean Marie Davies on April 3, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Graduated from West High School in 1941, Jack was drafted into the U.S. Army, served in General Patton's 13th Armored Division in World War II. He possessed extraordinary talent with machinery which served him well in the military. In 1950, he started a fifty-plus-year career as Founder and President of Aird Insurance Agency.
He loved flying, bowling, hunting, fishing, and boating with family and friends. Jack participated with the Swanee Singers (1939-1979), Mormon Tabernacle Choir (twenty years), President of the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus, and the Jay Welch Chorale.
Survived by his wife of over fifty-nine years, Jean Marie; children, Richard (Laurie Smith) Aird, Ken (Jane Burton) Aird, Janet Marie Aird (Karl Williams), and Dave (Jodi Judkins) Aird; sixteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. in the Foothill Sixth Ward Chapel, 2215 East Roosevelt Avenue (1445 South). A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, and prior to the services at the church on Thursday from 10:00-11:15 a.m. The family prayer will be offered at 11:30 a.m.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
