Services for Mildred High, 88, of Nampa, who died Monday, Oct. 23, at a Nampa retirement center, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The Rev. Kenneth B. Britt, pastor of the Nampa First Christian Church will officiate. Private family interment will follow at the Cloverdale Cemetery, Boise.
Mrs. High was born on March 14, 1897, at Council, to Horace and Deliah Lane Anderson. She was reared and attended schools in the Council area. She later married Caperton A. Palmer on Jan. 22, 1913, in Council and they moved to Fairhaven, Mo. They moved to Nampa in 1922. She then married Henry L. High on June 11, 1928, in Nampa where they made their home. She worked for the Troy Laundry. On May 2, 1944, she entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II. She was honorably discharged on January 3, 1945. After her discharge she returned to Nampa where she continued working at Troy Laundry. Mr. High died on Aug. 11, 1969, and she had resided in Nampa since.
She was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Fern E. Wolfe of Nampa and Margaret C. Wilson of Milwaukee, Ore.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and five sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nampa First Christian Church, 619 12th Ave. So., or flowers may be sent.
