YAKIMA - Melvin G. Acree was born February 27, 1922 in Porter OK., son of George Acree and Cora James one of nine children.
Melvin service in the U.S. Army during WW II in Tokyo, Japan and worked in the Civil service in Washington DC. He moved to Washington State and married Margaret Nordberg in 1971. Mr. Acree worked at Tree Top until his retirement in 1984.
Melvin is survived by, son David Acree of Fairhope AL, daughter Joan Cross of Grove OK, niece Lillie and husband Larry Mortimer of Yakima, WA and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret, parents George and Cora Mae Acree and eight siblings.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 4/17 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave.
Graveside services will be held, 1 p.m., Thursday, 4/19/2007 at West Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Melvin's name to donors charity of choice, in care of Keith & Keith Funeral Home 902 W. Yakima Ave, Yakima WA.
