Muriel D. Pitcher, 61, of Highland, NY died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on February 27, 1951 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of Charles and Adeline Ball Yerks. Her father predeceased her in 2002.
Muriel was a homemaker and a devoted Elvis fan.
Muriel is survived by her mother in Poughkeepsie and her children; her son and daughter-in-law Heath and Trish Pitcher of Jefferson, NY and daughters and spouses; Holly and Ray Smith of Ft. Myers, FL, Heather and Allen Dooley of Franklin, VA, Heidi and Fred Gerth of Highland, NY, Hope Sweeney of Staatsburg, NY, Harmony Pitcher and Steve Martello of Poughquag, NY, Hailey and Sean Moran of Hyde Park, NY, Lauralynn and James North of Highland, NY and Melissa Carpenter of Kingston, NY. Also surviving are her brothers Charles Yerks and Frederick Yerks of Poughkeepsie and sisters Debra McKee of RhodeIsland, Karen Roger of Pleasant Valley and Loretta Yerks of Poughkeepsie. Muriel is also survived by many grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
