Roy Melvin Bass, 94, of Farmersville, passed away April 16, 2007 at Homestead Nursing Home in McKinney.
He was born to William and Emma Johnson Bass. He married Verda Lee Gray Bass on Feb. 27, 1932, in Durant, Okla. He was a farmer and dairyman, and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by daughter Rheta Lawson and husband Bill of McKinney; son Roy Lee Bass and wife Joy of Denison; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, three brothers; two sisters and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Altoga Cemetery north of Princeton with the Rev. Roger Berghauser officiating. Interment will follow at Altoga Cemetery. McKinney Courier Gazette, April 17, 2007
