Son of Amos D Johnson and Harriet L (Chedester) Johnson.Suggested edit: Velma Bronn married a neighbor 1937 — strong, six-foot-four Charles Charlie Johnston, part Delaware Indian — who took over her father's ranch along the Truckee River near Wadsworth (the Double Lazy Heart Ranch). Unable to have children of their own, Velma and Charlie operated a sort of dude ranch for young people which included troubled city youth.
The name of the ranch was changed so as to include Charles in the family business.
They were married 27 years when he died from serious illness.
