Robert Ray Blan, retired, of Haskell passed from this life on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Haskell, Oklahoma at the age of 89.
He was born in Beggs, OK, on November 14, 1928, to John Harrison and Ada Pearl (Hines) Blan and attended school in Milfay, OK. On November 4, 1960, he married the woman of his dreams, Margie Marie Mullins, in Haskell. Together, they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage.
Robert was a dedicated worker and was known around the Haskell community for his work as a building engineer at First Bank of Haskell, the Rieger Memorial Library, the Haskell Post Office, and the Haskell City Hall. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and adored his wife and their family. Robert loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music and watching westerns and the Hallmark channel. He also enjoyed working, gardening, raising farm animals, fishing, and instilling his work ethic into those he loved. He worked until he was approximately 82 years old.
He is survived by his three sons, Stanley and Leah Blan of Haskell, Stephen and Debra Blan of Ponca City, Mark Blan of Haskell, and one daughter, Martha Blan of Broken Arrow. Robert is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sabrina (Blan) Walden, Stoney Blan, Brittney Blan, Bethany Blan, Chloe Blan, Kameryn Blan, and “R.W.” Blan, and seven great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaden, “SJ”, McKinleigh, Ryker, RaeLynne, and Rhett, and many nieces, nephews, and friends in his community.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl and William, two sisters, Opal and Irene, his loving wife, Margie, and one daughter-in-law, Karen Blan.
