James V. Huffman, 85, of Harrisonburg, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on, Tuesday, May 16, 2018.

Mr. Huffman was born October 20, 1932, in Shenandoah, VA and was the son of the late, Vernon and Nellie Schuler Huffman.

James served four years in the US Air Force. He worked for two years at the Arlington County Police Department and thirty-one years at Dictaphone, where he retired in 1990. He loved fishing, golfing, woodworking, and camping. He was a member of the Cross Keys/Mill Creek Ruritan Club with consecutive perfect attendance for fifty-eight years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Ann Miller Huffman; two daughters, Barbara Mitchell and husband, Gary of Elkton, Linda Strawderman and husband, Frank of Harrisonburg; one brother, Robert L. Huffman and wife, Jean; two grandsons, Adam Mitchell and wife, Tia, Jason Mitchell and wife, Nora; Great-Grandson, Brody James Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church at 2pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
