New Berlin--John Indian, 91, a former resident of Oneonta, died Thursday 24 April in Geneva General Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be Monday 28 April at the United Methodist Church, New Berlin, with the Rev William Quick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Mr Indian was born in London, England (sic),on 18 Sep 1877. He came to the United State as a small child. He married Viola Miller on 26 Apr 1911. He was a retired fuel foreman for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, retiring in 1946. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Berlin and Phoebus Lodge 83 F&AM in New Berlin. Surviving are his wife; a son, Cleatus Indian of Buffalo; three daughters, Mrs Morris Whitman of Scranton PA, Mrs John Rallion of Rochester and Mrs George Welston of Geneva; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
