Paul D. Baucher, age 82, of Celina, passed away Wednesday morning, May 16, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born February 1, 1936 in Mercer County, to the late Edward George & Mabel Leona (Mills) Baucher.
Paul married Patricia A. (Garman) on May 25, 1963. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2012.
He is survived by their children: Scott Baucher of Celina, Kelly Speers of Dayton and Michelle Sutter of Celina, four grandchildren: Ashley Thees, Nathaniel Baucher, Andy Sutter and Tony Sutter, and three great grandchildren: Brendan Thees, Chloe Thees and Sadie Baucher.
His three brothers: Ralph Baucher, Charles Baucher and Donald Baucher, and a son-in-law, Doug Speers, preceded him in death.
A graduate of Rockford High School, Paul served in the U.S. Army. He had worked for Heckler Electric in Celina and Sidney Electric and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union - IBEW Local #32. He served as a volunteer with the Celina Fire Department for many years.
Paul was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wabash. He had been a member of the Mercer County Sportsmen's Association, the Jaycees, American Legion Post #210, V.F.W. Post #5713, and Moose Lodge #1473, all of Celina.
Paul loved OSU Sports, the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. An avid Celina High School football fan, for many years Paul attended every game, watching the Bulldogs from his seat on the 50 yard line, 8 rows up. Paul was also a talented gardener, growing vegetables, roses and a variety of other flowers.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 19, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Robin Owen, officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, with military rites provided by members of the Celina VFW and Celina American Legion.
Calling Hours are 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 18 and 11:00 a.m. until time of services at Noon on Saturday, at the funeral home. A prayer service will be held by the Legion and VFW at 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
