Richard Allen Johnson passed away May 14th, 2018 at the age of 85 of Alzheimers. He was born April 25th, 1933 to Clifford and Iola Johnson in Werner, North Dakota.

He moved to Utah and grew up in Layton and Sunset. He graduated from Davis High School.

He then proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. While on shore leave he met the love of his life Gloria Bingham. They were later married in Ogden on September 11th 1953, and then later sealed as a family on February 11th, 1982.

He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints where he served his Heavenly Father in many ward and stake callings and also served as a Bishop of the Clearfield 10th Ward. Together with his sweetheart they served in the Raleigh, North Carolina Mission.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, their three children Debbie (Gilbert) Leonard, Syracuse; Steve (Ginger) Johnson, Syracuse; and Julie (Kelvin) Swander, West Point. He has 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Clifford (Linda) Johnson and sister-in-law Barbara Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald Johnson, sister LaVerne (Don) Williams, sister Delores Moore and his grandson Joseph (Joey) Leonard.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clearfield 10th Ward, 350 Vine St., Clearfield. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 12:30 to1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment, West Point Cemetery, 80 N. 4000 W., West Point.
