Above all Deborah was a devoted mother of two children, Dana Clair and Darrell, Jr. and her furry grandbabies: Molly Bear, Toby, and Banker. Deborah was an immensely loving and caring person who will be deeply missed. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School and attended Trinity University and Texas Christian University. She was a talented artist who showed at the San Antonio River Arts Festival. Deborah was a gifted designer and decorator who, with Darrell, ran the family construction business, Darrell Edwards Custom Homes for over thirty years. She was on the board of the San Antonio Conservation Society, the Friends of Hospice, and was a member of Hill Country Astronomers and Fredericksburg Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.). Deborah was actively involved in her mahjong club, Stonewall Heritage Society, Monte Vista Garden Club, Fredericksburg Garden Gatherers, and the Argyle. She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg and Christ Episcopal Church in San Antonio. Deborah was predeceased by her parents, and will be reuniting with her children Dana Clair and Darrell, Jr. Deborah is survived by her husband of 48 years, Darrell Jeri Edwards, her sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Henry Bell and family of Austin, her brother-in-law William and Ann Edwards and family of Kerrville, and close family friend Tammy Trascher. Celebration of Deborah's life will be held on Monday January 22, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials in her memory be given to Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department, Hill Country Memorial Hospital or St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
