Dubuque Telegraph Herald And Times Journal - Tuesday, August 23, 1932 - Manchester, IA - Special: Andrew Scheer, 74, long a resident of Coffins Grove Township, died on his farm known as the M.S. Van Auken farm Friday.
Funeral services were held at the Manchester Lutheran church Monday afternoon in charge of the Rev W.A. Adix Lutheran minister and burial was made in Oakland cemetery here.
Born at Kiel, Germany May 28, 1858, Mr Scheer came to the US with his parents when 18 years of age. He was married in 1886 to Miss Caroline Winters. Mrs Winters died on the home farm Jan 4, 1930.
Surviving are 6 children: Mrs Fred Weigel, Delhi; Andrew Scheer, Washington, D.C.; Mrs Alfred Barfuse, Ryan; Carl Scheer, Lamont; William and Caroline Scheer at home.
One daughter, Mrs Earl Beebe, preceded her father in death in 1918.
